We’d like to increase the number of directional and information giving signs in the area so that visitors can easily find out where to park, what to visit etc.

We’d like to increase the number of visitors to the town by providing more information on what to do and see, an enhanced tourist information facility, and a place for coaches to stop on their way through.
We’d like to support the use of the Old Market Place for seasonal events and themed markets such the International Town Criers event and Farmer’s Markets.
We’d like to continue to erect more ornamental columns to hold hanging baskets and Christmas lights throughout the Town Centre area. We think the continuing the theme will help to create a real sense of place.
We’d like to start a ‘Town Watch’ scheme, an enhanced version of the ‘Shopwatch’ scheme that will help to combat crime and anti-social behaviour.
We’d like to help make the Precincts area more inviting for shoppers in line with the Market Place.
We’d also like to work on a shop front scheme to support retailers to maintain the historic feel of this Market Town.
We’d like to work with the Deepings Community Centre to enhance its facilities to offer a larger and more versatile venue for community groups, conferences, the Arts, IT training and much more.

We’d like to continue to refurbish Welland Gardens to provide a place to picnic and enjoy the river, and a nature garden full of wildlife and native flowers.
We’d also like to encourage access to the river by creating a Welland Walk along the riverside through the town.

We’d like to increase the number of litter bins throughout Market Deeping and Deeping St James.
We’d like to explore the possibility of enhancing the cycle routes through the area.
We’d like to continue to support local businesses by providing training, advice, and a signposting service through the Deepings Business Club.

We’d like to support the Deepings Business Club to produce a local Business Directory, to help residents and businesses access local services.
We’d also like to look at the possibility of an Incubation Centre in the Deepings, supporting new businesses in their early years.
We will review our Action Plan each year to make sure that we are still heading in the right direction. We will also look at taking on other projects and issues as they arise.
Our hope is that the successful delivery of these actions, combined with the support of local people can help deliver our vision for the Deepings as:
> An enjoyable place to visit, work and shop and live
> Easy to access, park and find your way around
> An area where businesses would like to invest
> Attractive & Clean
> Safe & Secure
