3. Retailer Of The Year

Murano Silver DETAILS TO FOLLOW

Cloudnine
Customer Service, Quality and variety, striving to offer 'that something different' at a competitive price is a must. Retailing is ever more challenging and so we constantly review how we can improve. Research, research and research. I travel the UK to source 'that something different' at a fair price. We take notes on requests, feedback and suggestions from customers and act on that info. There is always room for improvement and Customer Satisfaction is critical not only to our survival but also is very rewarding and highly valued. Because our catchment area is relatively small we have an extra challenge, we refresh very frequently. If you return a few weeks later you will see fresh ranges. We compare prices with internet providers and similar outlets to ensure we offer good value. Community is also at the core of what we do as it is very important to us. We support local initiatives, schools and the Deepings Age Concern Charity. The team are very humbled to have been shortlisted and we really appreciate all the support.

Working with the majority of schools in the area supplying directly and also stocking many of their uniforms in store. Also offering specialist engraving, trophies and medals; and has just opened its own field hockey suite.
Shotbowl has always actively supported the community by employing local staff and using local businesses where possible for all of its own corporate needs; and giving back to the community by supporting local schools, summer fetes and charity events with donations, prizes or discounts.
Shotbowl is very proud to have been nominated for 'Retailer Of The Year', and wishes all the nominees good luck.

9. Best New Business

Beauty By L & Co
Myself (Lauren) and business partner Lucy, opened our doors and started trading in our new modern and relaxing beauty salon on Tuesday 31st of January 2017. We had completed a whole transformation from putting up walls knocking down doors and much more in the little time of about 4 weeks! Having been great friends for 5 years and both sharing a real passion for everything to do with Beauty, it was always our dream to set up our own Beauty Salon together, and at the end of last year this became a reality! We both have strong business minds, and our main focus is giving clients the best experience and pampering as let’s face it we all deserve it. We have over 13 years’ experience in the industry and feel this is shown in the quality of our treatments. Having nearly reached our 6 month anniversary we couldn’t be more happy of how successful the salon has been. After only a few months of trading we took on another member or staff Jade who has been a real asset to our business and has helped us grow and expand our client base. We hope to continue growing our business and to bring in new treatments and products to keep up to date with all new trends in the industry. Winning the Best New Business award would really top off a fantastic first 6 months and be a real reward for all our hard work to make L&Co such a fantastic salon!

Deeping Kitty Kare
I decided to set up my business Deeping Kitty Kare after realising there was a niche in the market for a local, reliable pet sitting service. As a pet owner myself with 2 x cats and a dog I knew from experience that finding someone to look after your pets when you are away can be a problem and using a cattery or kennels can be an expensive option and cause stress for your much loved pets.
Cats, dogs or any other small animals are much happier and more content when in their own homes and surroundings.
I visit your home once or twice a day to feed your pets, change litter trays, administer any medication and play with your pets. The pets love having some companionship and their owners have complete peace of mind when they are away.
I also send photos and videos to the owners to show their pets are happy and content whilst they can relax and enjoy their holiday. I can put out your bins, water plants and collect your post, which is all extra security whilst you are not at home. One occasion I had to email an important document to a client they had left at home, they were very grateful and sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers.
I love getting to know your pets, as I am local I am always bumping into my clients in Tesco’s or in town.
My reviews are excellent, all maximum 5*s and I quickly gained a lot of repeat business as a high percentage of my clients use my services every time they go away.
I love my job and hope you will vote for me.

Feathers Holistic Centre
Our aim at Feathers Holistic Centre is to enable people to achieve the best level of emotional and physical well-being. What could be a better aim than to try and bring harmony and balance into the lives of the community? Feathers was opened with this in mind and our practitioners have a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer one to one treatments and advice, all under one roof, working together to facilitate the appropriate treatment(s) for the client. Feathers opened in April with huge support on the open day, and is continuing to spread holistic awareness, we offer many forms of Massage therapy, Reiki healing, Yoga, Laughter yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, Hypnotherapy, Mindfullness, encouraging and including clients of all ages, genders, abilities, race etc.
Voting for the Feathers Holistic Centre will help to communicate the importance of Holistic health and together we can bring happiness and the best level of well-being to the Deepings community.

We are facing a national teacher recruitment shortage and as a teacher training institution we are doing our very best to make sure that Deepings children have high quality qualified staff in front of them. I am not sure we do deserve an award as we love our jobs but day-to-day you will find us delivering training on all aspects of teaching and scooting around your local schools supporting and assessing our trainees. This year we will qualify 45 teachers, primary and secondary; from large grammar and comprehensive schools to rural primaries, it is our mission to bring through the next generation of outstanding teachers for our local community.

Deepings Mens Group
The Deeping Men's Group Charities Fund Ltd is a local Registered Charity run by volunteers for the Deepings community. That is why we are so delighted to have been short-listed for an award. It’s a great event, takes 11 months to organise and brings all the Community together in one great day out. Whether we win or not, we will go on and we will continue to give you all a fabulous event. Your vote counts – Your Raft Race Needs YOU!"

Local interest groups such as U3A, the Camera Club, The Deepings Heritage group, along with fitness providers such as Zumba, Yoga, Super Seniors fitness and Inspire Dance, to name just a few, use our facilities to present their classes and group sessions. Our smart modern rooms for hire at affordable rents, allow local businesses to run seminars or courses in their local community.
We are proud to have merged with the Friends of Deepings library to allow the establishment of a new volunteer run local library, and we work regularly with the Lions and the Raft Race team, thus completing a truly Community Hub base for the residents of the Deepings and surrounding villages. We are proud to be nominated for a Business Award 2017.
